Space Marine 2 Review

Take if for what it is: 3.5/5 This is another live service game. This is a difficult review for me since I love Space Marine and Space Marine 2 is an awesome game with Titus (one of my favorite protagonists), however, I have to be honest with this one at the same time. It also started out rough being more of a grind even on normal difficulty. It has gotten better and the story/single player campaign is still worthy of a playthrough. However, it is like Helldivers, Diablo IV and other live service games. The game can change at anytime and any moment. Right now, they decreased the grind and made it more bearable compared to before when it first released. It is another issue/problem with these live service games. They can be great or bad within just one-two weeks. I am putting this right here since it needs to be known about this game being more of a live service game than a single player/split multiplayer game like the original. I personally enjoy going through the single play...

RoboCop: Rogue City Review

Take if for what it is: 4/5 PC, 4.5 on consoles               This game you feel like RoboCop. That is mostly the review right there! However, there are some issues I had while playing the game that kept it from being a 5/5. Let’s start with all of the positives this game has going for it, which are many!               The story is awesome! It feels like it was done with the original writers of RoboCop 1 and 2 movies. You can take the story and characters and feel they are right at home in the RoboCop universe. The controls are spot on too and you feel like a walking giant stomping around the city and move like you’re about to bring scumbags to justice! The shooting is on point, and I love the few abilities you have that really make this game feel like this small developer team put all of their hearts and soul into it. It is also incredible this sm...

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Review

Take if for what it is: 4/5 A little janky and controller dead zones are being worked right now by the developer. However, if you can get by this, the game itself is amazing. I did not finish the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. back in the day but I still loved it. I went to MP gaming for a bit and never went back to it but once I saw the trailer to this game I knew I wanted to play it as soon as it was released. I knew it was going to have tons of bugs being such a large story driven open-world, but I am still enjoying it! The characters, the world, the enemies, everything in it is created and fine-tuned with a team that is passionate about the series and that they were able to finish this while being at war with Russia is just incredible. The PC edition and the Xbox edition have been running fine for me besides some performance issues which the dev has already started to fix. Again, wait to buy if you prefer to have a fully polished game or have a low-end PC since it does require...

Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Take it for what it is: 4/5             I apologize, this is a longer review than my others. I will start off saying I love Dragon Age games. This one I was skeptical about. With the new art style, the story, and especially the gameplay, I was not sure. Then I started to see other reviews out there shitting on it or praising it. I decided to give it a shot and play it myself. I first picked up on Xbox and I was shocked at how much I started to like the new art style, story and game engine. I ended up picking it up on Steam too since Digital Foundry praised its optimization. Everyone is trying to compare this to BG3, which is OK, but it is a completely different type of game. BG3 is turn based D&D choose your own adventure type, this is more like the new Square’s linear Final Fantasy action RPG games. Combat is an action-focused game with spells and abilities you can choose on the fly (I play on the controller and love...

Killing Floor 2 Review

Take if for what it is: 5/5 One of the most underrated multiplayer games out there. I will admit, Helldivers 2 made me go back to this game again, and this game is an absolute blast! The devs always add new content that keep this game fresh. This game still plays like old school co-op games. Hop in, blow some shit up, and have a blast doing it! Unlike Helldivers and other co-op games with no PvP at all and continual nerfs, KF2 devs just keep making the game fun and everyone is overpowered/a blast to play. Higher difficulties get tough, but again, the main game can fully be enjoyed without ever even touching a suicide difficulty level. The developers truly keep this as a co-op game that is about hopping in with friends or random people and having fun killing stuff. With all of the classes, levels, secrets, and tons of other content. Too many companies are making PvE co-op games competitive and lose the aspect of enjoyment in a PvE game. This one has the developers always del...

Helldivers II Review

Take if for what it is: 3/5 The game is OK now, but still not fun for me anymore. Many people still love it and I have friends who love playing it, but it is too much of a time investment and grind/work for me. To each their own and buy it at your own risk. Again, this is a live service game so take that into consideration and know Sony and other live service companies are trying to get you to spend your life playing these games. It is OK and being a former WoW player they are great at times, but right now, it is not for me. I still prefer Back 4 Blood, L4D, Aliens Fireteams, KF2 and others I can hop in, kill stuff, and then leave. They do not have the content these full live service games have, but again, you can hop in them, and then bounce and do not need to play 10-20 hours a week to keep up. It reminds me of Outriders. When it released, it was pretty awesome and then the devs started to cater to the streamers and people who spend 5-10 hours a day playing the same game over and ove...

The Ascent Review

Take if for what it is: 4.5/5 The Ascent is a top down twin stick shooter. The cyberpunk theme is top notch, more akin to the dark and gritty Blade Runner theme than the more colorful Cyberpunk 2077 style. This game is freaking awesome though. The controls are tight, the story is good, and the guns are awesome. The main gripe is the voice acting. Before the AI voice patch they had actors speak alien gibberish and you read subtitles. and I actually preferred that over the new AI all English voice acting. The main voice actors are good, but the new AI voice acting just sounds weird and not as immersive as before the patch when they did the new voice overs (they basically took one of the main voice actors and used AI to alter his voice for over a dozen other characters, it is just meh). I know not all people liked reading subtitles, but the original voice alien gibberish and subtitles just made it more immersive and was better than using AI to try and emulate over a dozen othe...

ASTRO’s Playroom Review

Take it for what it is: 5/5 This game is incredibly cool and one of the best PS5 experiences I have played so far. I know a lot of people say it is just a tech demo, or too short etc. screw them. Sorry, just my opinion, but this is a fully fleshed out game that showcases the PS5’s capabilities. First off, this game is a homage to the PlayStation’s entire ecosystem and journey through it’s life. I love all systems, Xbox, Nintendo, and PC, but I will admit, I did grow up playing PlayStation and I understood a lot of the easter eggs and references. Besides this being an advertisement for PlayStation brand and the PS5, the actual game is great. The puzzles are well thought out, flow well and really make use of the Dual Sense controller. The haptics and full effects of the controller and capabilities are showcased here. There was not a level or world I was not enjoying myself. The graphics are top notch also. Truly a great showcase of just the early stages of PS5 development. ...

Exoprimal Review

Take it for what it is: 4/5                 I take a long time to write reviews. I will admit, first, I am going through the crazy backlog of games I have built over the years, second, I do not like to write a review until I fully play a game. I like to explore, do side quest, try, and collect collectibles, and, fully finish the game to where I see the credits roll, oh and third, I work a REAL job (yes, I try and do something for society). This game is a perfect example of why I like to finish games before reviewing.                 First off, I will admit, I love the theme, style, and take on what Capcom was trying to achieve in this game. The game is a team based PvP/PvE third person shooter. It is more on the PvP side while trying to finish the story in that the PvE missions, you are still competing against another team. This is ...

Death Stranding Review

Take it for what it is: 4.5/5                 Writing another review late, but this game is amazing. It is a walking simulator where you are a UPS/USPS delivery guy. Yes, that is it. What you have seen in the game play trailers is what you get. There are some minor combat sequences and stealth action, but most of it is a walking experience.                 The story is good, but as any Kojmia game, it is weird and convoluted. Really, if you have played any Kojima game, you know what you will be getting here. The acting is amazing, the scenes are beautifully directed, and the score is amazing. When it comes to storytelling Kojima is one of my favorite game directors. Again, if you do not care for his prior games, then you will not care for this.              ...

Scorn Review

Take it for what it is: 4.5/5                 This game I was anticipating for a while. When I first saw the teaser back during one of the Xbox showcases, I thought it was a new Alien game set in the Alien universe. However, upon learning more and seeing more gameplay trailers, I saw it was a new IP based on the H. R. Geiger artist who inspired the Alien themes.                 Now, I was somewhat confused about the gameplay at first. It starts weirdly (like anything in this game is normal) and I was confused on what to do. However, I slowly started to work my way around the environment, playing with the controls on the controller and started to get immersed within this strange world. I will admit, this game is not an open-world RPG/action fest. It is more like Myst (which I will beat one of these days) with some light run and s...

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Review

Take it for what it is: 3.5/5             So I loved AC: Origins. I love a new take on a series and like it when developers take risks and do something different. I am actually enjoying the AC RPG trilogy and about to start Valhalla after this. I always encourage devs to take chances and try different things. This game I do however have mixed feelings on.             Most of my time, I enjoyed it. It is similar to Origins with the RPG mechanics. Way more grindy than Origins though, but I understand why because of their gear and abilities design. If you truly play this like an RPG it is not a bad experience. The gear and abilities can be tweaked to where you can feel like your character can be changed according to your playstyle.             The biggest gripe I do have with this, is the amount of quest that are...
