Exoprimal Review

Take it for what it is: 4/5

I take a long time to write reviews. I will admit, first, I am going through the crazy backlog of games I have built over the years, second, I do not like to write a review until I fully play a game. I like to explore, do side quest, try, and collect collectibles, and, fully finish the game to where I see the credits roll, oh and third, I work a REAL job (yes, I try and do something for society). This game is a perfect example of why I like to finish games before reviewing.

First off, I will admit, I love the theme, style, and take on what Capcom was trying to achieve in this game. The game is a team based PvP/PvE third person shooter. It is more on the PvP side while trying to finish the story in that the PvE missions, you are still competing against another team. This is OK, but the full PvE experience does not unlock until you finish the game. This is kind of a bummer for me since I was expecting a more PvE Left 4 Dead/Back 4 Blood experience. I would have loved it if it had actual PvE with no team competition at all, but again, this was Capcom’s team who designed it this way and their vision, not mine. It still works out well and I had a great time regardless. Every time I played there was that “just one more game” style and feel.

The gameplay is all about the exosuits. These basically are your different classes such as Team Fortress and Overwatch. You can swap out exosuits at any time in the battle. This is great for when your team comp might need to change in the second half of the game or if it is not working right off the start. You have the grenadier, sniper, tank with shield, tank with minigun, healers with electro sticks, and other cool classes and styles. I really enjoyed all of the classes and each one you can take time and master.

This goes into the unlocks also. I loved the rig system. You unlock and level up rigs throughout the game. These allow you to enhance certain abilities, give you more survivability, more damage output etc. I felt like I was tweaking my character to my playstyle and not a cookie cutter build (I am sure there is a meta out there, but I did just fine with my style of build). This game is why I like to fully finish games, it starts to really open up the more you play and go through the story. More game modes unlock as you complete the story, more suits, rigs, etc. Overall, this game does play like a single player game also. The more you finish the story, the more the game opens up. If you do try it, I highly encourage you to play the game for more than an hour or two and let the game start unlocking game modes, suits, and rigs. This also gives you time to start learning the mechanics instead of throwing everything at you all at once.

Overall, this is a great game that I fully enjoyed. I have not picked it up for PlayStation yet, so this is only with the PC/Xbox edition. I have heard some great things about the PS edition also so I am sure it is great there too, but again, I have not tried it yet. I will definitely pick it up again later and would love to play through it again on the PS since it is such a great game. I am not too big into MP gaming these days, but this was a great multiplayer experience I enjoyed.

Space Marine 2 Review

Take if for what it is: 3.5/5 This is another live service game. This is a difficult review for me since I love Space Marine and Space Marine 2 is an awesome game with Titus (one of my favorite protagonists), however, I have to be honest with this one at the same time. It also started out rough being more of a grind even on normal difficulty. It has gotten better and the story/single player campaign is still worthy of a playthrough. However, it is like Helldivers, Diablo IV and other live service games. The game can change at anytime and any moment. Right now, they decreased the grind and made it more bearable compared to before when it first released. It is another issue/problem with these live service games. They can be great or bad within just one-two weeks. I am putting this right here since it needs to be known about this game being more of a live service game than a single player/split multiplayer game like the original. I personally enjoy going through the single play...

RoboCop: Rogue City Review

Take if for what it is: 4/5 PC, 4.5 on consoles               This game you feel like RoboCop. That is mostly the review right there! However, there are some issues I had while playing the game that kept it from being a 5/5. Let’s start with all of the positives this game has going for it, which are many!               The story is awesome! It feels like it was done with the original writers of RoboCop 1 and 2 movies. You can take the story and characters and feel they are right at home in the RoboCop universe. The controls are spot on too and you feel like a walking giant stomping around the city and move like you’re about to bring scumbags to justice! The shooting is on point, and I love the few abilities you have that really make this game feel like this small developer team put all of their hearts and soul into it. It is also incredible this sm...

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Review

Take if for what it is: 4/5 A little janky and controller dead zones are being worked right now by the developer. However, if you can get by this, the game itself is amazing. I did not finish the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. back in the day but I still loved it. I went to MP gaming for a bit and never went back to it but once I saw the trailer to this game I knew I wanted to play it as soon as it was released. I knew it was going to have tons of bugs being such a large story driven open-world, but I am still enjoying it! The characters, the world, the enemies, everything in it is created and fine-tuned with a team that is passionate about the series and that they were able to finish this while being at war with Russia is just incredible. The PC edition and the Xbox edition have been running fine for me besides some performance issues which the dev has already started to fix. Again, wait to buy if you prefer to have a fully polished game or have a low-end PC since it does require...
